Jesus is the Reason for the Season

Jesus is the reason for the season. Today was  a great reminder that we should live our lives like Jesus Christ did.

Today we went to the local church we have been attending for the last couple of weeks. After church we went to Alex’s army friends house

to celebrate that Christ is risen. It was great sharing this holiday with people who I didn’t really know but shared the same faith with.

God has blessed me with a great Christian man and I couldn’t imagine being married to anyone else.

Hiking in Georgia

While all of you guys in Illinois are dealing with the cold I am enjoying the nice Georgia weather. Today we hiked Pine Mountain in Georgia. It was so great that we got to hike on Alex’s day off. We couldn’t help but admire God’s beautiful creation. Georgia (our dog) had a great time hiking and exploring with us. When she was tired she would lay on the ground and not budge one of us picked her up.

Family is everything

I have been so blessed to have each one of these people in my life for the last twenty one years. My family has been so supportive of Alex and I over the years that it makes me even more excited to marry him. My parents have helped me realize that the  importance of having a Godly marriage is huge. I am happy to be able to look at my parents relationship for guidance. God is so good to my family and I trust that he will guide Alex and I in our marriage.

You Can’t take the Chicago Out of the Girl!

Every girl loves this blue box!! I am lucky to have been given this necklace from my future parents in law. This necklace is meant to remind me of Chicago wherever I am living. In the next couple of months I will be making a lot of transitions. I will be moving to Georgia in March and then leaving to move to Alaska sometime in July. It is crazy to think I will be going to one cold place to an even colder place! Thankfully I have people who love me who I can rely on to help support me throughout my moves. You can take the girl out of Chicago, but you can’t take Chicago out of the girl!

After two weeks of being Florida I can not be happier to go back to the windy city! I love Chicago because we have season! It’s so weird to think that Florida doesn’t have very specific seasons! However after being stuck in the airport for a couple of hours I can’t wait to sleep in my own bed! This vacation was so much fun! I stayed at my fiances’ parents house for a week and then stayed at a disney resort with my friend for the second half of my vacation! It was a great vacation to celebrate graduation with!

One year engagiversary

I can’t believe it has been one year since I have been engaged to my fiance. We have had many ups and downs throughout this year, but throughout it all I know heis the one!

I can’t wait to marry the man God put on this earth for me. YAY for marriage!

Ending the Semester Strong

As I am coming closer to graduation day it is both very bittersweet and very sad. I am especially sad because this is the last time in my life that I can live with a bunch of my friends. Once I graduate I am going to have to make time and effort to come visit friends instead of walking over to my friends dorms or bedrooms. I am sad because the friendships I have built are going to take more time. What  I mean by time is by fitting visits into work life and driving back and forth. I feel bittersweet because my school life is over forever, unless I decide to continue my education. As of right now  I am looking forward to getting married, traveling, and becoming accustomed to my new surroundings. Life will be sad without my Trinity community, but it is a part of growing up!

Visits Before the Semester Ends

Last weekend I visited my friend from Olivet. Since sophomore year I have tried to come see her once each semester. While at Olivet we went out to eat a ton, watched the girls soccer game, and spent a lot of time chatting. Diana has been my best friend since I was born. We always say established in 1993. Diana is my maid of honor and is doing a great job at planning my events that are coming up. I can’t wait for the semester to end because I will be 3 months closer to marriage and I will be graduated! I will miss my best friends here, but I will also be united with my best friend for life. I can’t wait but it will definitely be bittersweet.

Happy Veteran’s Day

Happy Veteran’s Day!

Thank a veteran or a current solider for their service. My fiance has come from a family that has served in the military. My fiance, Alex’s dad served in the Marines and his brother served in the Army. Although his brother Adam went through a difficult time in the Army he is still very thankful to have served the Army. Alex’s brother actually has a documentary made about him and his situation. If you would like to read more about what Alex’s brother, Adam, went through check out The Kill Team. Everyday I pray for the soliders that are out there, I pray that God will protect in everything that they do.

Girls Weekend

My friends and I took a trip up to Lake Geneva for our Fall Break trip. This was a very exciting time for us as we all had not had a break from school, sports and work in a long time. Our friend who graduated last year was even able to take off work too days so that she could come celebrate break with us. I was so happy to spend the days not worrying about homework. Most of our days were spent in the spa where we had access to the steam room, sauna, hot tub and relaxation! I was so sad to leave but can’t wait for next years trip!
